Welcome to the Horror Diet, a blog chronicling one woman’s desire to try almost anything to lose weight. (Urine therapy, tapeworms, maggots, etc. excepted.) I know that there are many others like me whose bodies at some point start waving a white flag and saying, “Sorry! Not going to do this weight loss thing anymore. We don’t care how much salad you woof down, us cells feel like storing fat instead of releasing it. Totally sorry about your society’s preoccupation with thinness, friend. Better luck next lifetime!”
Yet still the desire persists. For me it is medically-focused: to get rid of joint pain, build a stronger immune system, increase vitality and stamina….so that I can dance. I used to dance a lot, and because of joint pain had to stop. I really miss it. When I dance, I am alive.
So I have quite a few things planned this year to gain back what I can of my health, NOT including a beer colonic. I plan on having Fun With Detoxification. I think I’m in for a wild ride. Join me, won’t you? :)
